Rodney Carrington

Date: Mar 06, 2021
Platinum-selling comedian Rodney Carrington is returning to the Five Flags Center for two shows! Both performances are recommended for mature audiences only. Over the past two decades, Carrington has consistently sold out shows at venues across the globe, making him a regular presence on the annual list of highest-grossing touring comics. His upcoming Five Flags shows will mark Carrington’s return to the facility following a successful appearance in April 2004.

Carrington broke onto the comedy scene in the late 1990s with the release of his debut comedy album, “Hangin’ with Rodney.” He followed that up in 2000 with “Morning Wood,” which was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and also reached the Top 20 of the Billboard Country Albums chart. A half-dozen more charting albums followed, including a “Greatest Hits” release in 2004 that has reached Platinum album sales.

Carrington also starred in his own TV sitcom, ‘Rodney,’ for two seasons on the ABC network. He branched out to the big screen in 2008 when he co-wrote and co-starred in a feature film based on the Toby Keith song “Beer for My Horses.” The movie won the Academy of Country Music’s Tex Ritter Award, which is annually presented to films which feature or utilize country music.

More recently, Carrington starred in his own Netflix special, “Here Comes the Truth,” which was also the title of his most recent comedy album. He also hosted the broadcast TV specials ‘CMT’s Biggest Laughs’ and ‘American Country New Year’s Eve’ while appearing in a cameo on the feature film “A Million Ways to Die in the West.”
