Founded in 1958, the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra serves the residents of Dubuque and the surrounding tri-state area. Under Music Director William Intriligator, over 60 professional musicians perform a repertoire of classical and pops concerts. The DSO believes in artistic excellence and the power of music, and is committed to enriching the community and inspiring the hearts and minds of all its patrons.

Now in his tenth season as Music Director and Conductor of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, William Intriligator has guided the orchestra through an exciting period of artistic and organizational growth.
The orchestra is performing at ever-higher levels of musical excellence, and during his tenure the DSO has added staged opera, staged ballet, a chamber series, programs designed for young professionals, additional educational youth concerts, new education initiatives, the re-introduction of family concerts, and large scale festivals such as the MozartFest and the Multicultural Festival.
